Restructuring and Turnaround

Jahan Alamzad, Managing Principal of CA Advisors, led a joint team of consultants from Applied Decision Analysis, where he previously served as Director of Airline Practice, and Lufthansa Consulting GmbH, in the Mexicana Airlines restructuring and turnaround engagement through the application of Airline Analysis Method (AAM).

The project was the first instant for applying AAM to restructure a major international air carrier. While by the end of 2000, losses were accumulating at Mexicana, the operational and financial performance of the airline has seen a dramatic improvement, leading to profitability by the end of 2004. The airline has now been successfully restructured, and is expected to achieve sustained profitability.
