| Lufthansa Consulting: An Innovative Method of Analysis | 23/11/1999 |
| Implementation of a New Consulting
Tool in cooperation with ADA Frankfurt, 22.11.99 (LCG/IB) - Lufthansa Consulting, the aviation industry specialist, is using a new complex method of simulation and analysis for the first time. The tool, which was developed in-house in cooperation with ADA Applied Decision Analysis LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the international professional services organization, simulates the effects of complex strategic decisions. The cooperating companies have been working on the development of the Airline Analysis Method, or AAM for short, since November 1998. The tool is intended for developing strategies for Lufthansa Consulting clients. This approach is based upon innovative data collection, expertise in the industry sector and quantitative decision models. It places the consultant in a position to inform the client of the operational and financial consequences of strategically significant decisions. This method is characterized by its comprehensive approach, the long-term view it takes, as well as its dynamism. Specialist members of the consultancy have been advising Mexicana Airlines on a restructuring project since February 1999. The goal is to improve economic performance within the airline. After a period of assessment on site, specialists will now implement and use the new method for consulting activities. PricewaterhouseCoopers' ADA assists senior management through the complexities and uncertainties of the decision-making process using state-of-the-art analytic methods. Their products help management in making informed decisions about mergers, acquisitions, capital investments, product development and marketing. The cooperating companies plan to offer the new consulting method in the future to arlines and airports as well as to non-aviation customers.
